Picked up this 88 Toyota long bed from a friend. Thinking about doing a flatbed for it.

88 was an odd transition year I think. I see it's IFS, is it carb or fuel injected?

85 was the last year of the solid axle and the first year of fuel injection (the holy grail)! But they are easy to swap to solid axle.

Yeah I’m torn cuz I love them with a flatbed and exocage.

It wasn't that old, 87 maybe? DJs was IFS and carburated.

Was DJs a 2WD at one time? I believe the 2WD still had carbs or an option for carbs for a bit longer than 85

No. Might have been optional for a few years?

It was optional i had and 85 fuel injected with automatic trans in high school and an 87 parts truck that was carb. If i remember right the carb or no carb depended on where the truck was originally built. Then in 88 the 3.0 became an option also.
