I'm just getting into crawling, have been a bogger for years. My brother and buds are on here, and said this is the best site for info, help, and overall 4x4 talk, so here we go.

I just ran across a great deal on a lifted cj5 on a 86 cj7 frame and running gear. The tranny is shot, (I believe a T5) it's got the d300 tcase. I'm eventually going to the sm465/300 combo with twin stick as I already have a couple of those trans. Time and cash are holding that back right now. If anybody has any info on what trannys I could use to bolt right back, or if anybody is wanting to get rid of one I'd greatly appreciate it, Thanks

Grady, good to see you got a ride! I think the T-18 will also work. And maybe a T-76? or somethin like that. I think the T-5 is a for 5 speed trans? Been a long time since I did any reasarch on Jeep stuff.
 
Yeah, it looks like the T4, T176, and sr4 are direct replacements. So if anybody has one of these in good shape laying around gathering dust I got cash...
