After painting it I noticed oil leaking from where the snout meets the housing. I had the syphon the new oil out, clean everything and RTV it. While I had it opened I checked to see that the coupler(grey plastic) was new like it was supposed to be and I also checked the needle bearings for fresh grease. These blowers are very simple and are supposed to last a very long time before rebuilds. The RTV is drying now.
It was very hard to resist the urge to put this thing in a parts washer and order all new bearings. It was bench tested at 9500rpms to be fine so I put it all back together. Like it sits. This is just another setback in the install. The first blower came in damaged from UPS so I had to ship the entire 50lb box slap full of parts to UPS for inspection. Once they confirmed it was their fault, they had to ship everything back to Colorado and process a claim. Then dude in CO had to ship everything back to me with different blower. Can't wait to see what happens next. Yesterday when I was priming it I noticed out of the corner of my eye that the box I had it on was tipping over, I ran over and caught the blower in my hands about 5 inches from the concrete, wet paint and all. It would have been destroyed just like first one.

I did a few things today before the rain set in. Most of these pics are for reference as to what went where so I can hook everything back up properly.
I removed air intake, throttle body, most of the manifold vacuum lines, disconnected MAP from throttle body and installed snout support and pulley. Then the rains came.
Anyone know what would work good to plug this port on the TB where the MAP was?
The vacuum deal is quite confusing, hopefully it will make sense when the blower is installed. I have plugs for all the ports on the manifold. Everything else seemed pretty cut and dry. Hopefully the weather will clear up for tomorrow.

I had wondered that myself. I've done some reading recently regarding it and wondered how big of a difference it actually made.
For shits and giggles you could go ahead and replace the exhaust manifold with a eBay header if you've never done so before.

I ended up just filling it with rtv but now that you bring up removing it, that's what l will do. Then tap and plug. I believe this manifold will be fine but will totally not be surprised if it does not. I don't foresee any problems out of it as the pulley bracket would not fit if it was incompatible. I believe there may be some 2 bolt power steering pump manifolds? This one has three. The factory map will now be plumbed to the lower manifold to read boost, the bypass valve on blower and then to the fuel management computer. I'm still figuring out vacuum though.

I would love to replace this pos cracked and leaking exhaust header but I am totally slap broke. Is there anything you can put on the cracks like JB weld or something? This thing won't run again till April and then for just a couple days before sitting another 6 months so if I could get the exhaust leaks to quite down for one trip it would be worth it.
