Just ordered one. Rember we were talking about antennas this morning so what's the best antenna for this unit and can you program it at the campground before the poker run?
Antennas.
Shortest option antenna with pre-terminated cable - https://amzn.to/2ZGbFbo - use this to make a DIY bracket.
@Nigon Updated my original post. The picture is actually a UHF, The Description said VHF... Who knows what you'd Get.I know nothing about this stuff. Please forgive my ignorance. This listing says it is for VHF 136-174 MHz. Is that compatible for use with the UHF 450-490 radio?
Edited for auto correct error.

@highpockets - I didn't screw you up did i?
I updated it.the listing now shows UHF.
No I haven't done anything yet. Tripp, did you tell me that I could use the same cable from my CB. If so is it possible to find just the ends and base so I can DYI my own mount and not have to reroute a cable. I would like to use the same configuration I have now if i can and just modify the antenna mount to fit the new base.@Nigon Updated my original post. See if this works, I cant recall if this was the latest or not. Im sure i saved it in my programming VM if that doesn't work.@97TJGUZZY Did Tripp program your radio? If he did mind exporting the settings to me sometime?
I am not seeing some of the settings in the prgoram software. For instance TOT is set to 4 on ORSC1 and the lowest it will go is 15 in the program.See if this works, I cant recall if this was the latest or not. Im sure i saved it in my programming VM if that doesn't work.

Several of the club members, including myself, have enjoyed this one:Now that folks have some trips under their belt what are some recommendations for a radio? Leaning towards a mobile so I can use it in my truck as well.
