Tapatalk photo testing

When I went to add the picture above in Tapatalk on my iPhone 4s (IOS version 5.1.1 (9B206)), the choices that were presented to me were:
Best 433 x 578
Small 239 x 320

I choose Best.

It appears to be a good size, but the quality is definitely low (but not too bad).

After making changes to .jpg maximums. (edited maximum height and width to 1080)

No improvement

Here is the image uploaded to my ftp server and attached here via the website. Not resized at all.

And I think I can see where the problem is. The photo directly from the phone is 2448x3264 and is 1.87MB in size. Some of the pictures are almost 3MB in size.

And again from the phone

This attempt was after setting the attachment limit to 4MB and no height or width restriction. Tapatalk still resized the image and downgraded the image quality.

I'm going to change the settings back and continue on this later.

I was getting reports that the pictures are now looking better. So I though I would do another test without making any changes. Sure enough, now when I went to upload (via tapatalk), I got 3 options this time.

  • Best 768 x 1024
  • Medium 480 x 640
  • Small 240 x 320

This last one looks much better.

Yeah. I got three options as of yesterday. Or that's when I noticed it. Now they don't look like they were taken under water atleast.
